TRAINING / EDUCATIONAL GOALS:
Associates of Arts
degree from the Institute of
Indigenous Government (IIG). Unfortunately all of the instructors have
changed, but it was the best educational experience I've ever had! Learning about
the history of oppression of our people and how the justice system actually works
against minorities etc. really opened up a new world to me and I'm still exploring
this path.
My goal in education is to get my Master's
degree in "Sustainable Management" which is a program
that helps people to look at how to do business in a way that is
sustainable from a people, money and resource point of view, instead
of just trying to get high profits and stepping on whatever and
whomever along the way, I don't believe in that. |
LIFE
DREAM & GOALS:
I just want to be
of alot of service to the Indigenous people's community
at large. I am a part of Canada's
Native people, and will always be involved here, but there are 300 million indigenous
people worldwide, many of which are suffering with the same issues that our people
are. My ultimate dream would be to change this suffering in a BIG way for all
of our Indigenous brothers and sisters so that we can all start living our most
productive and healthy lives possible. We come from a powerful lineage and I
believe we can rise above any hardship and not just survive, but thrive once
again. |
WHERE
DO YOU GO FOR HELP?
Family, friends, books if there's one that could help me some how. |

FAVOURITE
FOOD:
My Mom's homemade pizza and East Indian
food.
Why: because homemade food always has that extra
edge of delicious and East Indian food always hits the spot as
well and is cheap way over down Main Street.

Current job, training or projects you're involved
in: I am working on the RedWAY BC: Website for Aboriginal Youth
project currently, am also designing a Native youth hip hop clothing
line called "Spirit-Soul" and am a part of creating a
BC Native Youth Action Society, which I will hopefully be able
to help fund from profits from the clothing line. |

WORDS
OF ADVICE:
Words
of Advice for
Youth: City's have a lot to offer both good and bad, you can take them as
an opportunity to get involved in your urban community in a positive way, or
else you can just come here and get involved with the drug and drinking scene.
Both are here ready and waiting for you. If anyone wants my advice, I would say
that getting involved in our Urban Aboriginal Community is so much more fun and
helps both yourself and our people as a whole. I know youth who are involved
in Video and film making, in rapping and music, in designing, in different post
secondary programs, who run their own home-based
businesses....etc
We are all a big network who are here
to help each other and help Native people as a whole if we can
in some way. So I'd like to see all of our Youth getting involved
in this circle because we can make it as big as it needs to be
to make room for each and every Native Youth out there!
